Hi Morten, as I recall, ferries go twice a day from Kennacraig (spelling?) to Islay and it is no problem to take a car - although it is a good idea to book in advance!!! There are lots of places to rent for self-catering, which I liked a lot. Contact the tourist office in Bowmore. Bowmore also has the Lochside Inn - and Alistair the owner, has propably one of the best collections of (Islay) Malt Whiskys. Wish you a nice vacation on Islay Christoph
