Can anyone who has actually been to Islay

provide a list of their five favorite pubs

and their reason(s)? I've got the Lochside

in Bowmore on the list. I'm staying at the Port Charlotte Hotel

which I understand has a good pub.

I will gladly reciprocate when I return from my own pub crawl

next month. I'd like to compare notes with other seasoned Islaians. BTW that brings up a really good point. Can anyone

tell me how the people of Islay refer

to themselves? That is, besides the

most fortunate people on earth, Scots,

etc.? Thanks and Slainte to all (I'll have a wee dram in commemoration for all who post).
