I've read the "Pubs/bars in Islay" thread and have

noted that the Lochside in Bowmore is a must see.

The White Hart Hotel has also been mentioned in Port

Ellen, which I will also check out. I know that there

are more than two pubs on Islay. My challenge for this group

is to list your top five picks for pubs on Islay.

I will

commit to visit the overall top five from the group and have a

wee dram to commemorate each of the contributors. I will also

provide my review of each of the pubs (whisky selection, conviviality,

ambience, etc.)for the group. Also, my intent is to create a home page

with pictures, etc. from the trip. I will email the URL to all contributors

to enjoy and reminisce vicariously. My trip starts on July 9th so please

contribute soon. Sorry to essentailly post the same message twice

(see Pubs/bars thread) but it doesn't appear that many people go back to the
