Ardbeg Distillery Visitor Centre
The most recent restoration of the distillery has been the conversion of the distillerys Old Kiln and malt barn into a spectacular new Visitor Centre, which opened its doors in May 1998. The distillery visitor centre is proving a big hit with both tourists and Islanders alike and has been hailed as a resouding success with over 3000 visitors in the first nine months.
Visitors can relax in the comfort of our café in the Old Kiln where a friendly welcome and an impressive array of sumptuous home cooking and baking awaits you. Sample Marys famous Clootie Dumpling or warm up with a bowl of homemade soup.
When you pay us a visit you will discover a few secrets which make Ardbeg the Ultimate Single Islay Malt, on our guided tour. The mellow peat-laden water from our own private source of Loch Uigeadail. The ancient bobby mill, amongst the oldest in Scotland, and the unusual spirit still with its purifier.
You can read about tales from the past in our museum and browse in our extensive gift shop where a wide selection of Ardbeg malt whiskies and beautifully made Ardbeg gifts are available.
The Ardbeg Distillery is truly a step back in time.
