The Ardbeg 1815 was launched for sale during Feis Ile 2015 to celebrate the 200th Anniversary. 200 bottles were allocated for sale at the distillery on Ardbeg Day, and the other 200 bottles would be offered to select accounts around the world.
The 1815 consists of 1974 ex-bourbon barrels and 1975 sherry butts. The casks were married and bottled sometime around 2008, which would make this expression approximately 33 years old.
